The Department of Education for the State of Virginia has awarded Red Mill Elementary with a special recognition for “Exemplary SOL Performance”.  The criteria for this award was that a school must have a pass rate that averages above 95% on all SOL tests, given in grades three through five, for two consecutive years.  Our average pass rate has been just below 97% on all tests with the highest rating of “Pass Advanced” for 67% of our students.  Red Mill was one of only four out of the fifty-five elementary schools in Va. Beach to receive this award.  Congratulations to all of our students, teachers, parents, and community members for such an outstanding performance.
